An interview to hear, a book to read

I was planning on read the book anyway, but hearing Jonah Goldberg’s fascinating January 10 interview with Dennis Prager only whetted my appetite to get my hands on Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning. For example, did you know that the phrase “liberal fascism” was coined, not by some conservative pundit, but by H. G. Wells, the dean of western Socialism?  In a 20 minute segment that flies by, Prager and Goldberg talk about the faux unity those on the Left seek, about the nature of fascism, about the canard taught at universities that the far left and the far right are the same, and so much more.  I can’t wait until I get hold of my copy of the book — and I was delighted to see that many aren’t waiting because, as of this writing, Goldberg’s book is the 7th book on the Amazon Top 100.

  1. BW, if you haven’t yet done so, read Bruce Walker’s Sinisterism: The Secular Religion of the Lie which I bought from Amazon. I was able to look it up at Border’s but they made it so hard for me to order it, that I just bought it at Amazon without a hitch. Bruce Walker has also written for the American Thinker, concerning the libel that Christianity bred Nazism and Fascism, just as the libel that Jews gave the world Socialism and Communism. He does an extraordinary job of using contemporary sources to prove that it was atheism and the nihilism of the 19th century which gave birth to the horrors of the 20th century. It is finally good to see more books like this, taking on the conventional lies of the history revisionists, and it is long overdue.

  2. Goldberg’s presentation at the Heritage Foundation regarding his book is on CSPAN2 this weekend at 10 eastern Sunday and 1 am Monday. FYI
