Ain’t too proud to beg. . . . (*A post I’ll keep at the top today*)

[I’m going to keep this floating at the top of the blog today. Please scroll down for new posts.]

The 2007 Weblog Awards

Please, please, please, please, please, VOTE FOR ME, in the Best of the Top 1001-1750 Blogs category of the 2007 Weblog Awards.

Thank you!

(And remember that you can vote every day until the balloting is over.)

UPDATE: I got so excited about being nominated, I forgot to tell you about the others running in my category. They’re good, very good, which actually makes me happy. Winning in a walkaway isn’t fun, because you know you haven’t deserved your victory. (I know this to be true, because I did very well in undergrad, something that was no credit to me, but merely a sad reflection on how inadequately prepared my classmates were for college. Most, I assume, went on to do very well.) As it is, whether I win, place, show or lie moribund on the bottom, I’ll know that I really was competing with my peers. Anyway, here’s a list of competitors for you to review:

  1. Don’t you mean “Ain’t too proud . . .” Typos are hell . . .

  2. I voted, and hope you win. Much deserved honor.

  3. Typos are my bete noire. I just can’t seem to avoid them. Now, not only do I have to beg, I have to grovel apologetically for being a nitwit. Thank you, InkMiser, for setting me right so quickly.

  4. Good luck Bookworm! Just voted for you.

  5. Of course I will vote for you, Book.

As an aside, you have peers?

  6. Hey, %&@# happens. I voted for you, to . . uh . . too.

  7. Hello Bookworm,

I just voted for you. Congratulations on being a Finalist 🙂

  8. You deserve to win.

Like someone said, I’m voting early and often.

  9. I voted and I also posted. You’re one of the favorites I listed, Toots.

  10. I voted for you as well, Book, although I’ve enjoyed Obsidian Wings on and off over the last year.

  11. But it really wasn’t close. 🙂

  12. Bookworm –

Congratulations! You deserve it. I just voted.

  13. Book,

I voted. Best wishes for success on the final tally!

I just perused the current leader’s blog. Meh. There’s a reason I’m an unrepentant elitist.

Still, wins are fun. Good luck!

  14. BW,
    Just entered my second vote.
    Good luck

  15. Great! Congratulations! I’ll keep watching to see what happens.

  16. Put down my second vote.

  17. Unless we want to wake up on a morning in February, 2009 to find that the Republican President is, indeed, continuing the assault on the Bill of Rights, the destitute, yet another country, and plundering the world in general, it’s time to begin attacking Republicans on all fronts.

Identification with the pain of other people is one of the primary motivations of people on the left, much more so than those on the right. Conservatives do feel for other people, those they are close to and those they share something with, but the concerns of conservatives stop much closer to home than those of leftists.

Two reasons I am writing this. One, for some feedback on what people think is wrong with what the author said about the Left/Right. Two, as a motivation piece in order to make you vote for Book over the competition. Echidne of the Snakes is in the lead, after all, and from that site was the author of the bolded piece.

  18. If you actually read the comments under that post, it is like someone from the Left reading Neo’s post about conservative speakers on University campuses. Go through the looking glass.
