The latest censored Berkeley Breathed cartoon

Twenty five newspapers refused to publish it, but you can see it here.  It’s not one of Breathed’s best humor wise (not like some of his past cartoons), but it makes a bigger point and I say shame to the craven publishers who won’t run it.

  1. As you can see, Book, the newspapers know their place and station in life. Tools cannot be allowed to inflict harm upon their users, after all.

    Wyson said some client papers hesitated to run a sex joke and others won’t publish any Muslim-related humor, whether pro or con. “They just don’t want to touch that,” she said.

    How many people did the Islamic Jihad have to kill to get such a favorable response?

    Yet they try to tell you that the media targeted journalists, and that it is the brave journalists speaking truth to power that is preventing the US military industrial complex from dominating the world.

    The media also says that Iraq is too violent and that the BushCo boys are failing in their job to create stability. The real truth is that not even the West is stable and peaceful enough for the Left. The Third World problems of suffering and violence? They won’t touch that.

  3. Btw, this is also a good example of why you don’t need bombs or nuclear demonstration strikes to condition a group’s behavior.

    Perception is what matters. Not how many you kill, but how many others think you will kill. It is why the technique of accusing the US and Israel of killing everything that walks on two or four legs is such a good idea. The target gets all the negative consequences of killing volks, but NOT the positive ones.
