Books

Regular reader Deana has a wonderful suggestion. It occurred to her that, since you are obviously a well informed, mentally hungry, very varied group, you probably have a lot of good book recommendations. She suggested that I provide a running link where you can add comments with those book recommendations. If you look up at the top of this blog, you’ll see that I have done so. If you go to the “Books!” tab, you can leave as a comment any book suggestions and reviews that you have, and other readers can go check it out.

It seems like a great idea — thank you, Deana! — so let’s give it a try and see how it works.

By the way, as long-time visitors know, I’m an avid romance reader, so I’m not a snob about genres. However, as with the rest of my blog, though, I’ll do have standards. I will therefore delete comments that try to lead readers to violent, hypersexualized*, racist, or antisemitic books, or anything else in that kind of “dark side of human nature” category.

*By hypersexualized, I basically mean porn. Most modern romances nowadays have pretty graphic sex scenes, so they are sexual, but it’s still easy to distinguish them from pornography — and since it’s my blog, I get to draw that line.

UPDATE:  Well, Deana read my readers right — we’re off to a roaring good start with about a dozen excellent recommendations.  Since I’m a prodigious reader, and sometimes read good stuff, I’ll drop in with my own recommendations too on a running basis.  By the way, to those who already commented, you’ll see that I put hyperlinks on your book titles so that other readers can easily find them.
