If you don’t share their politics then you will be outed in the most insulting or devastating manner possible.
The hypocrisy is outrageous.

Whether bad people are in a position of power or in a position of weakness, their tactics remain the same throughout human history. These folks just happened to have been born in the wrong century amongst the wrong social class. They would have made great aristocrats in the medieval time and great bureacrats in Rome's time.

Great in the amount of incompetence and carnage that could be expected from their very existence that is.

The greatest example of what SGT D is saying is Matt Sanchez.

My post on Matt Sanchez sums up all of the sides, more or less

In his words, though:

JMG: Do you know Jeff Gannon? Have you ever worked together or socialized at political functions? As escorts?

SANCHEZ: Nope, nope, and nope. I did get an e-mail from Jeff Gannon and I constantly hear the comparison between him and myself. Frankly, I don’t think it’s the same. I would be more like Rich Merritt, although, from what I understand, he’s a flaming liberal. It’s funny you ask this question. There’s something about the beleaguered gay psyche that wants to prove to the world that everyone is just as messed up as they are. So, they start off with the term hypocrite and work their way backwards looking for signs of deviant behavior in hopes of discovering some type of bastard kinship. That’s why I’ve had the term self-loathing thrown at me so often. The gay community eats its own in a frenzied hope of self-serving fulfillment.

It supports what Dave said about the gays stomping on their own more than any other.

Ideological cults are very finiciky hierarchies that people join, whether by choice or something else. These cults are very strict on loyalty. Far more strict than even the Left thinks of the dictatorial and fascist Bush/military alliance.

Long and short; irregular behavior is encouraged by people who, while participating in the “acceptable” side of the activity, use this placement to hurt people who expect to have some privacy in the acceptable venue. The more the gay lobby uses gay clubs to out people, the further they drive the closeted and vulnerable members of their community into dangerous areas.

It is very similar to the insurgency tactic of attacking the occupation forces in order to provoke a massacre and a punitive expedition on any surrounding areas. This creates more oppression, but the so called freedom fighters see it as a way to gain more support against the occupation forces.

It is very similar to how protection rackets work, although not exactly the same. You create the threat, which is occupation backlashes (or getting discharged from the military), and then you offer yourself up as a solution to the problem that you created. Clever, if not exactly ethical.

Sorry, got cut off before the tag line.
People that claim to be tolerant are only acting tolerant to those of their same political stripe. If you don't share their politics then you will be outed in the most insulting or devastating manner possible.
The hypocrisy is outrageous.
Anyhow, that was my 2 (actually with the length, maybe 25) cents worth.

All,
I guess the bottom line for this is that many of these people fear going to "normal" places to meet people of similar sexual orientation. Many "gay" bars are effectively out of the question for people in the closet, much less for politicians. I hate to say it, but the gay community has become its own worst enemy in terms of privacy. A friend in the military (now out because of the situation) was outed by a person he met in a club to the command. He was a very good soldier; several of us suspected his orientation but did not care - largely because it did not affect his duty. (BTW-the main regulation used to prosecute "deviant" behavior is the one about conduct unbecoming; mainly related to talking about sex in the work area. The Army uses the same reg for EO and sexual harrassment; it all centers on keeping the work place working.)
Back to the main story - my friend (and he still is) came back from a long weekend with a smile on his face and said he'd met someone special. All of us were happy for him, period. Then his "someone special" calls our battalion commander. Turns out the individual cruises gay bars, fixates on people that might be GIs, then reports them to the command to protest the Army's policy on homosexual behavior.
I sat with my friend through a suicide watch for a week; he was devastated - he'd lost his career, his dreams for a long-term relationship, and all hope. During the evenings we talked about his life; he held nothing back and talked about the furtive way he'd had to seek partners. He'd finally decided to give a "normal" place a chance, despite warnings from friends that the people there might do something like this.
He's OK now; he found a partner that shares his outlook on life (while he was living at home after his separation from the Army). He still disagrees with the Army policy in general but does understand that having pictures of a soldier splashed on the front page of the local gay newspaper in a compromising situation would have been a disaster for everyone - the
Army, the soldier, and the gay community in the long run.
Same with the SPC I had to testify about who decided she could work nights as a stripper in the next town over. She tried to wreck my career (though I was not the one who reported her). I was glad I had a witness; the one time I saw her in the club I quietly advised her (its called "verbal counseling") that she should desist in the activity. I didn't report it up the chain (I probably should have; the fact that I counseled her about not having an outside job and maintaining professional behavior while off duty saved my career). She thought I'd initiated the investigation; her ex-boyfriend (a 1LT in another unit that got discharged for fraternization) was the one who started the mess.
Wow, I'm all over the place; back to the point.

Their ages were 80, 52, 45, 42, 39, 36, 32. Most or all were married.

Speaking as a 45-year old gay man, these are all my age or younger. I well know that America is very tolerant these days. These men would be quite capable of meeting men in normal venues and joining committed relationships. If they wanted to! They do not want to. Instead these men CHOOSE anonymous sex in restrooms. That is the behavior they are deliberately choosing and I have no sympathy for them.

I'm not advocating infidelity. My goal is to point out that there is no possible excuse for such degrading behavior: repeated incidents - very large numbers of incidents - of anonymous sex in such a filthy public place such as a restroom toilet stall. It's such degrading behavior and I cannot understand doing it once, let alone over and over and over.

Hopefully by now everyone is understanding that this is a subculture with well defined behaviors on agreement for sex. The complex signalling behavior in toilets cannot accidentally occur - it's designed that way; and Larry Craig is as guilty of this repeated behavior as any other one of these guys. Have some integrity and self-respect already!

Ellie says,
"I have NEVER heard of ANY sexual approaches to any minor boys in public restrooms." and I agree with her, I haven't heard that either. These aren't child molestors or predators. Perhaps we should try to find room to pity them for having sunk into such self-degradation as repeatedly seeking anonymous sex in public toilets. Perhaps we already have enough pity! - Because these are misdemeanors, not felonies.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but they shut down the "bath houses" (in NYC) for gay men looking for anonymous sex, they clamped down on the rest areas on the Interstates i so if you are looking for anonymous gay encounters, where do you go?

I have NEVER heard of ANY sexual approaches to any minor boys in public restrooms.

These are lonely, pathic men but they are not predators.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying solliciting in a public restroom is ok, it is definitely not.

But should not the left/democrats be more concerned that the police is after consenting homosexual adults than the fact a republican is a homosexual?

I guess to them destroying a republican is more important than defending the " oppressed minorities"...
