Christian fundamentalists do not desire to abrogate the U.S. Constitution. Muslim fundamentalists do not have Constitutions to abrogate, nor do they want one, on the basis that the suras, sharia, and a restored caliphate are the only necessities for governance on earth. However Western elites in media, the arts and academia know they can't do a damn thing about the brutality and ruthlessness of radical Islam but in their own culture they can have what they see as a salutary effect by such "exposes" of Christian fanatics. Denounce such people, criticize your own culture in the most jaundiced and corrosive manner, and you get money, status, tenure, standing ovations at Cannes. Denounce radical Islam and you are accused of bigotry if not rewarded with a fatwa calling for your death.

The cultural and media elite, and usually the politicans go through all kinds of bizarre contortions to prevent popular emotions from being aroused, on much of anything. Lyndon Johnson during Vietnam supposedly dreaded anything that would arouse the public to demand that we actually try to win that war. For that matter, think on how hard it is to actually see any of the film taken of the 9/11 atrocities.

Funny, though, that while the whole world is near to blowing up, the particular Lake of Fire that the moviemakers want to dwell on is abortion. Now there's a new issue. Come to think of it, some people would probably think blowing up the whole planet is okay, so long as the sacred right to abortion is protected. Probably, it's much easier and no doubt safer and more politically correct to stigmatize all opponents of abortion as religious fanatics than some other people I could think of.
