However, Israel is in a bit of a box: it might "dispute" the status of the territories, but it does not want to deal with the facts on the ground (i.e., the Palestinians). In fact, no Middle East country wants to deal with the Palestinians and, as the Gaza debacle demonstrates, even the Palestinians don't want to deal with the Palestinians. Unfortunately, it doesn't look as if there is any end in sight for this mess. The only solution is what Israel is doing - build a wall around the problem, lob rockets when the Palestinians do violence, and hope that someday the Palestinians resort to Prozac and figure out what it is they truly want.
