This week at the Watcher of Weasels, the vote outcome on the Council side was, from my point of view, a very nice little triumvirate. First and third places went to the two posts for which I voted, with my own post sliding in neatly at second place. It was like a party of good friends. This is how it played out:
First place was Soccer Dad’s beautiful 3 Spies and Six Days, which put a human face on important intelligence gathering leading up to the Six Day War. Second place was my own The Six Day War In Real Time, which discussed news coverage at the time of the Six Day War, and compared in with Middle East coverage now. Third place was Cheat Seeking Missiles’ Smelt Stink, a look into the ugly heart of extreme environmentalism.
On the non-council side, a couple of pretty hot articles took the lead too. First place was Dan Simmons’ thoughtful Four Modest Proposals for Getting Out of Iraq, while second place was the fascinating and informative Six Day War — Israeli Perspective, which Judith Klinghoffer wrote for the History News Network.
I’ll end here with what I say every week, and what I mean every week: Just because every post and article couldn’t win, that doesn’t mean that every one isn’t worth a few minutes of your time. They inform, they amuse, and they enlighten.
