Every day, my kids bring home at least two pieces of paper reminding them not to waste natural resources. Multiply this by the populations of their schools, and you’re looking about 1,000 pieces of paper sent home per day, reminding us not to waste paper. It doesn’t seem to have occurred to the school that parents already know this message and that these papers warning against waste only make the journey home to go into the ever present blue recycling bin. As for the kids, the best way to teach not to waste resources might be to stop wasting resources.

The primary schools have become nothing but indoctrination centers for whatever is the fashionable leftist issue of the day. Right now it’s The Environment.
Remember, to the Left, results and facts don’t matter. The only thing that matters is repeating the orthodox Leftist groupthink. They don’t care that using 1000’s of pieces of paper defeats the purpose of saving paper any more than they care if saving paper is even necessarily in the first place.
To the Socialist, saving the environment is irrelevant. This is because the “environment” is nothing more than a tool to get the people to embrace anti-business, anti-government, anti-Capitalist propaganda.
Oh, the irony!
Sometimes it gets a bit scary knowing that these people are supposed to be educating our kids.

Actually, we used instances such as these as teaching moments to explain to our kids the basic fallacies and contradictions in these teachers’ worldviews (full disclosure, my spouse is a teacher). Today, our kids are off to college and fully able to recognize B.S. when they hear it. The faster our Boomer generation disappears into the dustbin of history, the better.
