Anna Nicole Smith has died

Normally, I wouldn’t blog about the death of a celebrity, even a young one.  Smith’s death strikes me as particularly sad, however, when one considers that she’s left behind a 5 month old baby (father unknown) and that she was preceded in death, five months ago, by her 21 year old son.  While her life was a farce, her death is a tragedy.

  1. Anna Nicole Smith Dead at 39

I can not help but feel sad for this woman. I must confess, her dysfunctional life fascinated me to some extent. I always wondered how this screwed up woman made it as far as she did. Make no mistake, she did make it pretty far. The bottom line is s…

  2. I, too, was surprisingly saddened when I heard this today. I don’t know why – maybe because she sometimes seemed to be a little lost and adrift in a very tough environment?

I hope her baby is raised in a good home and taught to think of his mom in a personal and private way – not the way she so often presented herself to the public.

  3. A weird wheel of life we have here, Book. Amid all the public controversy, there was little data that could be collected or interpreted on what she herself felt.

  4. Anna Nicole Smith wanted to live like Marilyn Monroe.Turns out she died young just like her.Big and loud is how they both lived .Big and loud is how they both died.
MM died at 36 on Aug 5,1962 in Hollywood Calif. and Smith died at 39,Feb, 8 ,2007 in Hollywood too – Hollywood Fla.
America has lost its latest big blond bombastic bombshell.
Sad but it all make cents(sic) er I mean sex(sic)!
People make high risk choices an as always sad unintended consequences can result.
Go figure who are we to judge ?

  5. I think a commenter over at BetsysPage perhaps said it best: “A depraved society goes ga-ga over a whore. Yawn.”

  6. Probably says more about me than it does anything else, but I didn’t really have any idea who the hell Anna Nicole Smith was. I’m not much into celebrity culture, despite my involvement with Hollywood. I never know who anybody is.

  7. And I don’t really have any idea who the hell “JJ” (above) is, but he/she suffers no loss.

  8. ANNA NICOLE
In beauty and kindness, she was truly blessed
More often than not, put through life’s cruel test
Lost her son , her life she couldn’t recover
Couldn’t let her mourn alone, always they had to hover

People used and abused her, wouldn’t leave her alone
But when it came down to it, always on her own
One wealthy man, fell in love with the person she was
Tabloids and gossip were all the buzz

Maybe he was kind, and she loved him a lot
Don’t really think evil and greed were the plot
Everyone around, wanted all she could give
They made it so hard for her to live

Happiness doesn’t come to all that easy
They fed on her blood, so utterly sleazy
She had a new daughter, a light in her life
They fought over that, wanted to make her his wife

Did he love her, or need for much control
In her sons death, did he play a role
Did she die of an overdose, who played a part in that
Who would gain from her death is all the chat

A beautiful young troubled woman has lost her life
So many who knew her, in her back put a knife
Let’s pray for the family, and daughter she left behind
Let them live their life, can’t all be kind

They say she was on drugs, what does this matter now
Can’t they let her lie in piece, spare her loved ones some how
I shall mourn for her, a life so sadly lost
Money doesn’t matter now, she paid the ultimate cost!
