Biological laws of unintended consequences

Phibian has a fact-filled post about the resurgence of an old problem, about its ability to spread uncontrollably, and about the reason this problem, long dormant, is back. His post is good, so I don’t want to give anything away here. I just think you should go read it yourself.

  1. The trouble is, this could spread to other countries, because we, in our arrogant folly, think the problem has been eradicated.
Thank goodness my son got protection for this.

  2. The best bio weapons, as opposed to chem weaps, is a virus or infection that has a very long incubation time so that it becomes infectious for weeks, while having a more than 50-70% fatality rate.

That way, it will spread to a lot of people in weeks, before anyone gets the signs of sickness and quarantines the area.
